Code Violet Gameplay Basics

This page summarizes the official Code Violet survival guide published by TeamKill Media. It focuses on core mechanics, controls, and survival systems.

Tutorials

Code Violet does not include full in-game tutorials beyond basic button prompts. The detailed explanations live in the Tutorials section of the Main Menu or Pause Menu.

Basic Controls

  • Left stick: Move.
  • Right stick: Look.
  • L3 while moving: Jog, then press again to sprint for a limited duration.
  • Circle: Crouch. Hold Circle: Go prone (pistol only while prone).
  • L1 while moving sideways: Dodge. While prone and moving sideways: Roll.

Inventory and Storage

  • Inventory is grid-based and weapons take multiple slots.
  • Gear Pouches expand capacity.
  • Dressing Rooms act as safe rooms and provide global storage.
  • The map is accessed via the Touch Pad button (detailed in most facilities).
  • Crafting List tab shows all recipes.

Facility Room Types

  • Armories (green doors): upgrade weapon stats with Mites earned in-game and change weapon skins.
  • Dressing Rooms (safe rooms): save progress with the vintage phone, customize Violet, access global storage, and review collected collectibles.
  • Medical Storage Rooms (dark red doors): Simon Says puzzle rooms that always contain a Blood Bag and additional supplies.

Crafting

Crafting includes health items, ammo, and grenades. Many materials are shared across recipes.

Stealth and Smart Suit

After acquiring the Smart Suit, R3 activates Glass Veil using UV Cells. It grants reflective camouflage to reduce detection.

Stealth tips from the official guide:

  • Crouch to reduce footstep noise.
  • Shoot out light sources to reduce detectability.
  • Use tall grass outdoors for cover.
  • Suppressors let firearms stay quiet and avoid alerting nearby dinosaurs.

Puzzle Systems

  • Simon Says locks: Repeat the sequence correctly three times or it resets.
  • Physical keys are always located within the same facility.
  • Four-letter word locks use clues found via exploration and Blacklight.
  • Blacklight reveals hidden messages, objects, and puzzle clues.

Status Effects

Poison:

  • A 10-minute timer leads to death if untreated.
  • Cure with Antidote (found, crafted, or dropped by enemies).
  • Health items do not work while poisoned.

Blood Loss:

  • Triggers when health is 60 or lower. Enemy attacks have a 40 percent chance to inflict it.
  • Bleeding drains current and maximum health over 15 minutes.
  • Stop bleeding with a Tourniquet (temporary), Medkit, Blood Vial, or Blood Bag.
